Vanaf 20 juli [[1943]] heeft hij bij een niet nader bekend bedrijf dwangarbeid verricht. Hoelang hij daar heeft gewerkt, kon ook niet worden achterhaald.<br /> <br /> Ruikes trouwde met Maria Christina Johanna Hulst, geboren in 's-Heerenberg op 13 februari [[1930]] als dochter van Richardus Franciscus Hulst en Gerharda Berendina Welling. Hij overleed op 2 november [[1997]], 73 jaar oud, en werd begraven op de r.-k. begraafplaats aan de Arnhemseweg in [[Zevenaar]].
